MountainFolk is a community-based (Tunbridge, VT) non-profit music presenter that aims to provide more than just high quality concerts to its supporters. With the guiding principle of “Harmonizing the beauty of the music, the mountains and the folk”, MountainFolk hopes to connect its surrounding community through culture, fellowship and an abiding appreciation of our natural world.
MountainFolk’s Artistic Director, Todd Tyson, has been involved in presenting concerts here in Vermont and in PA for the past 12 years. As founder of both the TurtleDove Folk Club (PA) and MountainFolk, as well as serving as AD for Montpelier’s Live Art, Tyson has presented more than 100 concerts over the years that have included performers like Tom Rush, Patty Larkin, Nickel Creek, the Holmes Brothers, Guy Davis, Old Blind Dogs, the Nashville Bluegrass Band, Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, Harry Manx, Tom Paxton, Slaid Cleaves, the McDades, the Dry Branch Fire Squad,John Gorka, Kim Richey, Cris Williamson, Kate Campbell, Crooked Still and many, many more. In addition to being a long time member of the North American Folk and Dance Alliance, Tyson has been a folk-DJ for many years in VT, DE and on the Internet. He currently hosts Crossroads on the Point (www.pointfm.com) on Sundays from 6-10 a.m.
