2011-2012 Subscription Information

Well the fall has rolled in again, just like the Tunbridge World’s Fair, and it’s time to get live music cookin’ again for MountainFolk. Many of you have been steadfast supporters of live music here in Tunbridge over the last few years and it is my pleasure to send you notice of the upcoming season and a chance to save a couple of “recessionary” bucks while helping this little grassroots presenting organization stay sustainable. As most of you have discovered over the last couple of years, most MFOLK shows have an advance ticket price of either $15 or $20 depending on the level of the specific show’s budget. MountainFolk’s sound/venue/publicity expenses are pretty stable with the difference in price coming from the varying guarantees of the selected performers who have included the following over the past few years: Eliza Gilkyson, The Old Blind Dogs, Tom Russell, Guy Davis, The Starline Rhythm Boys, John Gorka, The Tannahill Weavers, Harry Manx, The Steel Wheels, The Woody Guthrie Tribute Tour, Kate Campbell and The Battlefield Band, among many others.

Between October 2nd, 2011 and May 20th, 2012 there will be six concerts evenly split between these two ticket prices. In an effort to responsibly bolster fiscal stability (not my strong suit), full season membership tickets are being offered at the following prices: $90 for a single season membership and $175 for a pair of season tickets. These costs represent a savings of $15 and $35 respectively off the per show advance price for the series. In addition to the 6 concerts, member pass holders will be invited to all pre-concert potlucks (the 1st one will be in the Parish House on Sunday, Oct. 2nd at 5:30PM) and will receive a special series music sampler CD produced down at the Season’s Promise Music Cabin — including 2 pieces from each of this season’s performers. If you can’t make it to one of the show’s, the member pass will be transferable to allow one of your friends to come to the show in your place.

Single show tickets will still be available in the usual way….South Royalton Market, Tunbridge Store or on-line on this website. Season member tickets will be available via check to MountainFolk, c/o Todd Tyson, 25 Clarksville Road, Tunbridge, VT 05077, in additon to using the PayPal service at the MountainFolk website. And, of course, you could just make payment at the Honey Dewdrops show on 10/2 or if you bump into me somewhere. Please include your return mailing address so that I can mail you your passes and CD’s.
